New Dictionary Term
Along with "westie", "retrosexual" and "Generation XL", the term "Man Boobs" is one of 1500 new entries in the 7th edition of the Collins Australian Dictionary, due out next month.
"Man boobs" also has made it into the upcoming 4th edition of the Macquarie Dictionary, with Tony Abbott's use of the expression in Parliament to criticise Mr Latham cited as evidence that the term remained relevant.
Professor William Foley, head of linguistics at Sydney University, yesterday said terms like "man boobs", swear words and slang had a place in dictionaries.
